C - 21 Dicarboxylic acid

C - 21 dicarboxylic acid is in liquid form derived from customized fatty acid blends from renewable crop sources. It is also known as (2 – cyclohexene - 1 – octanoic acid or 5 ( or 6 ) – carboxy - 4 – hexyl - ). Its cas number is 53980-88-4. It is insoluble in water. Soluble in most organic solvents. It has to be neutralize with Mea, tea, caustic soda or potassium hydroxide.

Features and Benefits
  • Highly versatile molecule with two carboxylic functional heads
  • The carboxylic functional heads can be reacted further with alkalis , amines , alcohols etc to form a variety of compounds that can be used in many applications.
  • As a C21 diacid , it is capable of producing non - gelling soaps that have higher resistance towards hard water.
  • As a dibasic acid , polymers such polyamides , polyesters can be forms . it can partially substitute traditional dibasic acid used in polymers to achieve desired properties such as lower viscosity.
Application
  • Corrosion Inhibitors
  • Lubricants and metal working fluids
  • Emulsifiers
  • Epoxy resins and epoxy hardeners
  • Polyamides
  • Amine derivatives and Amine salts
  • Polyester synthesis
